Mayor Tin Antonio of Alcala, Cagayan, is planning to put CCTV on every roads of the town as way of solving problems on improper waste segregation.
Antonio said they have found lots of garbages thrown which covered plants in the a part of the municipality.
She told via FB post that she will warn and provide penalty to individuals caught improperly throwing garbages.
“Maikkanen apo ti cctv dayta a dalan agpa-Bantay tapno makitan dagiti agibelbelleng ti basura.” [We will put CCTV on the roads which serves as guard in order to identify violators.]
Further, the mayor encouraged the residents to practice proper waste disposal.
“Aramiden tayo ah ngamin kakabsat nga i-segregate ti nabubulok iti hindi nabubulok, ta talaga a saan alaen ti trak ti basura no laok-laok. Siempre ti suspetsa pay a nagibelleng ti basbasura ditoy Bantay ket dagiti saan a nag-segregate — dagiti mangriri kadagiti garbage collectors tayo no saanda alaen ti basura a tipon-tipon. Linteg tayo apo a saan a maala ti basura no saan a na-segregate. Sursuruen tayo ngamin ti agbalin a responsable.”
She thanked the MENRO, GSO, and Parks and Signs for their actions which helped them find out about the problem.
